Malaria spreads to 7,668 people in Cambodia since January

(MENAFN) Xinhua news agency quoted Cambodia's Health Minister Mam Bunheng as saying on Wednesday that during the first three quarters of 2020; the total number of patients who have been diagnosed with malaria across the country has dropped by 70 percent from 2019's first nine months rate of 25,499, reaching 7,668.

Bunheng detailed that "Among the reported cases, there have been no any deaths," indicating that the country has confirmed zero deaths from malaria for two years, which means that Cambodia has seen zero death from malaria three years earlier than the self-induced mark.

Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious illness that is often found in rainy seasons and mostly happens in the forest and mountainous regions.

The minister urged people living in malaria risk provinces to sleep under insecticide-treated mosquito nets all the time in order evade being bitten by malaria-carrying mosquitos.
