Qatar- PM opens MME's Unified Operations Center
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, inaugurated yesterday morning the Unified Operations Center of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME). The centre will monitor events, crises and disasters and respond quickly to them in coordination with all governmental and non-governmental agencies.
The Prime Minister was briefed about the centre's control room. He also reviewed its working mechanism and the services it provides.
The inauguration was attended by Minister of Municipality and Environment, H E Eng. Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, and a number of ministry officials. MME said the centre aims to improve the services provided to individuals and society, and to respond faster to emergencies. Project Manager Eng. Hamad Ahmed Al Hassan Al Mohannadi said that the centre was in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 which aims to establish a modern state.
He noted that the project took six months to complete. He said the centre will focus on managing emergency crises and will ensure workflow is uninterrupted. It will also improve coordination between different sectors and administrations.
