Tea exports in Sri Lanka's reaches USD1 billion

Data from the Forbes and Walker Tea Brokers showed on Friday that the earnings of tea exports in Sri Lanka have reached USD1 billion in September this year.

Statistics showed that the volumes of tea export in the starting nine months of the year added 4.15 percent to more than 200 million kg in comparison with the previous year.

Iraq was the top importer of Celyon Tea, Turkey and Russia followed.

Other markets included Libya, China, Azerbaijan, Syria and the UAE.
