Afghanistan- Doctors Among 4 Killed in Maidan Wardak Raid
(MENAFN- Daily Outlook Afghanistan) MAIDANSHAHAR - Two doctors and as many staff members of a hospital have been killedduring a security forces operation in Daimirdad district of central MaidanWardak province, officials and residents said on Tuesday.
Agovernment official, who wished to go unnamed, told Pajhwok Afghan News thatsix Taliban militants had also been killed in the same operation and twoothers, including a doctor, detained.
Rahmatullah,a resident of the area, told Pajhwok that security forces carried out theoperation in Tangai Saidan area late Monday night. He said two doctors and asmany hospital personnel were killed in the nighttime raid.
Hefurther added that security forces also arrested a doctor named Waheedullahalong with another person.
However,another official said six militants had been killed in the operation.
Meanwhile,the Ministry of Defense in a statement said civilians causalities would beinvestigated in Maidan Wardak province.
Theministry accused Taliban militants of hiding in people's homes and usingcivilians as human shield during clashes with security forces. (Pajhwok)
