(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) Panama€™s Superintendency of Insurance issued a warning on Wednesday, April 24 of possible loan scams through web pages and WhatsApp messages.

The possible fraudsters pass themselves off as representatives of financiers who offer accessible personal loans and assuring ensuring that the history of the Panamanian Credit Association will not be taken into account.

All the procedure would be done electronically. They use names similar to real financial and the documentation that they send to the consumer has the logo of the Superintendence of Insurance as the supposed guarantor of the loan.

To make the disbursement, they ask the client to make a deposit of 10% of the amount requested.

osé Joaquín Riesen, Superintendent of Insurance and Reinsurance of Panama, said that they knew about this scheme from by consumers' calls, and said announced that he will file a complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office to initiate investigations.
