Sri Lanka says 9 suicide attackers behind fatal blasts
(MENAFN) State Defense Minister Ruwan Wijewardene declared that probes by Sri Lankan police revealed that nine suicide attackers took part in Sunday's fatal blasts, eight of whom have been named.
The minister added that the head of a local extremist outfit which conducted the bombings was one of the suicide attackers.
Wijewardene confirmed that till now, 60 suspects have been nabbed over the blasts and 32 of whom had been turned into the Criminal Investigations Department.
Huge searching operations have been underway to arrest further suspects as Wijewardene promised to restore control over the situation in the next days.
