Turchynov: Russia's Security Service and General Staff should be recognized as terrorist organizations

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Federal Security Service and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Federation should be recognized as the terrorist organizations, while Russia should be regarded as a state which spreads terrorism in the world.

A corresponding statement by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov was published on his website.

"The security forces of our state have detected an agent network created by the secret services of the aggressor state responsible for a series of terrorist acts in the territory of Ukraine, blasts and assassinations, in particular, the murders of members of the Security Service and the Defense Ministry of Ukraine. The officers of Russian special services were detained. Their testimony points to the purposeful organization of terrorist activity in the territory of our state by Russia's Federal Security Service and the Intelligence Directorate," Turchynov noted.

According to the received evidence, he stressed, the responsibility for the organization of terror and subversive activity in the territory of Ukraine rests with General Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, General Dmitry Minaev, Chief of the Counterintelligence Department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, and Vice-Admiral Igor Kostyukov, the Chief of the Russian General Staff's Main Intelligence Directorate.

The Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council added that criminal cases were opened against all those involved in the organization and carrying out of terrorist attacks. In addition, these individuals should be wanted by Interpol and included in the sanctions lists as terrorists, Turchynov stressed.

"Similar crimes committed by the special services of the Russian Federation were also exposed outside our country - in particular, the use of poisonous substances in the territory of the United Kingdom, etc," Turchynov recalled.

According to him, these "criminal acts give reason to recognize the special services of the Russian Federation, in particular, the Federal Security Service and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, as the terrorist organizations, and to regard Russia as the state which spreads terrorism in the world."
