Suriname, China to boost ties


(MENAFN) Surinamese President Desire Bouterse has met with visiting senior Chinese political advisor on boosting mutual ties.

Vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) said that over the past 43 years since both countries established diplomatic ties, they have respected each other and treated each other as equals, making them a paradigm of friendly exchanges between countries of different sizes and cultural backgrounds and South-South cooperation.

Lately, due to the joint efforts of the two heads of state, both sides have maintained close exchanges at all levels and deepened political mutual trust, he added.

China has always given great importance to the Sino-Surinamese relationship and hopes to further bilateral relations by taking advantage of the joint construction of the Belt and Road.
