ABU DHABI, 3rd April, 2019 (WAM) -- The Ministry of Education aims to create an innovative school community, which will develop a distinguished future generation who are capable of building the future, said a UAE minister.

Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, made this statement following the 'Innovation Training Programme in Entrepreneurship', which was held under his patronage and was organised by the Khalifa University for Sciences and Technology and the Emirates ICT Innovation Centre, EBTIC, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Boot Camp. The programme was attended by 40 students from schools around the country.

Al Hammadi added that the training programme aims to provide a convenient environment for students, to develop their skills and reinforce their knowledge through research and fact-finding, which will enable them to transform their ideas into projects that can serve the community.

He went on to say that the programme's participants, who were selected based on projects that they presented to the Emirates National Festival for Sciences, Technology and Innovation, which was held in Dubai in February, have proven their excellence in research and knowledge while noting that they are expected to have a promising scientific and professional future.

The programme, which began on 31st March, ended with an award distribution ceremony that was attended by representatives of the industrial and educational sectors, officials from relevant government authorities, and leaders of the technology sector, who have considerable expertise in entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises.

The EBTIC was founded in cooperation with the Khalifa University for Sciences and Technology, the Emirates Telecom Company, Etisalat, and British Telecom, BT, with the support of the ICT Fund.
