Iraq repatriates 400 refugees from Turkey
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, Dec 15 (KUNA) -- Some 400 Iraqi refugees have been repatriated to their home country from Turkish territories, Iraqi transport ministry announced Saturday.
The ministry carried out an "exceptional duty" through sending 11 buses to Turkey to bring back displaced Iraqis to their home towns and villages in Nineveh governorate in northern the country, it said in a statement.
Taking back refugees is part of the Iraqi supreme committee to repatriate displaced families from safe governorates and neighboring countries to their areas of origin, added the ministry.
The ministry has previously announced repatriation of all displaced families from Kilo 18 camp, in Anbar governorate, following its closure. (end) aah.maa.ma
