Kuwait's women hockey defeated by Hong Kong team in Bangkok tourney


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Oct 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti women's ice hockey team lost their first match to a Hong Kong team at opener of of Bangkok tournament which included a number of Asian teams.
Khaled Al-Mutairi, Deputy President of Winter Games Club told KUNA over telephone, that the team lost 6-1 due to excellent performance by the opponent team, which included some professional players from Europe and North America in their arsenal.
Al-Mutairi added Kuwaiti players had made good efforts but their poor experience due to lack of participation in international events contributed to their defeat.
He hoped the team would achieve a better result in their second game against Thailand hockey team tomorrow Wednesday.
Al-Mutairi stressed that participation of Kuwaiti women in such competitions would contribute to the development of the team's technical performance and prepare them for future competitions. (end) fsa.mb
