Iraq: 328 PMs to be referred for retirement
(MENAFN) Iraqi President, Mohammad Fuad Masum, issued a decree to refer all 328 members of parliament for retirement, Wednesday.
A decree issued by the Presidency of the Republic said: "the parliament speaker and the finance minister shall implement the president"s orders".
The legal and constitutional period of the sitting parliamentarians ended on June, 30. Parliament failed to amending the election law and to extend its current mandate.
After completing an ongoing hand recount of election results the Federal Court has to approve the results.
