Gaza Strip fatalities hit 140 since March 30: health ministry


(MENAFN) Gaza Health Ministry unveiled 140 people to have lost their lives in the Gaza Strip since March 30 after a young Palestinian man died of his wounds early Tuesday.

The 24-year-old victim, identified as Sari al Shubaki, has been pronounced dead at a hospital in East Jerusalem after sustaining injuries May 14 from an Israeli live gunshot in the back amid protests in eastern Gaza Strip, the health ministry stated.

Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip have been arranging peaceful rallies and protests ever since March 30.

The rallies and protests have been conducted under the name "The Great March of Return" and "Defying the Israeli Siege."

Since March 30, over 16,000 Palestinians have been wounded and over half of them shot by live gunfire, while sixty of the injured had their limbs amputated, the health ministry added.
