Two rescued from drowning in UAE during Eid holiday


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Ajman Civil Defence rescued two people from drowning in separate incidents during Eid Al Fitr holiday, Al Bayan newspaper reported on Saturday.

The men, both Asians, had hit the waves and were saved in the nick of time by the civil defence teams.

In another incident, an African man trapped in the rough sea was pulled out by the civil defence personnel. The teams rescued the African man from the sea, but he died few hours later in the hospital, said Brigadier Abdulaziz Ali Al Shamsi, director-general of Ajman Civil Defence.

Al Shamsi said night swimming is banned in some beaches to ensure safety, and rescue teams are always on their toes to prevent any case of drowning.
