Mo Salah to be fit for World Cup after injury brought Arab to tears

(MENAFN) Egypt's king Mohamed Salah will be fit for the World Cup despite suffering a shoulder injury that forced him to be substituted during Liverpool's 3-1 defeat to real madrid in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday, the National reported.

Salah, who scored 44 goals in all competitions for Juergen Klopp's side this season, took a tumble following a challenge from Real captain Sergio Ramos and required treatment on the pitch, although he came back on moments later.

Egypt's Youth and Sports Minister Khaled Abd El-aziz said on his Facebook page: "Dr. Mohamed Abou El-Ela, the doctor of the team, said that the Liverpool medical team had informed him after the X-ray on the shoulder of Salah that the result was that the player was injured in the ligaments of the shoulder joint, and added that according to this diagnosis he is optimistic Salah will be part of the national team in the World Cup."

"Honestly, I think it's a nightmare," football journalist Marwan Ahmed told the BBC World Service. "There are no words to describe it. There was a minute of silence after we'd seen Salah go down and then when he went down the second time, we knew it wasn't good and that he would leave the pitch.
