Iran to promote Tabriz 'Capital of Islamic Tourism' for Bangladeshi

In synchronisation of Iranian city of
Tabriz in East Azerbaijan Province as 'Capital of Islamic Tourism', Iran Cultural
Centre in said that in with the 'Tabriz 2018' they will arrange several events
to introduce the Islamic heritage to attract the Bangladeshi visitors.

Tabriz is the largest economic hub and
metropolitan area in Northwest Iran. The population is overwhelmingly
Azerbaijani, though Persian is spoken by residents as a second language. The
city is famous for its handicrafts, including hand-woven rugs and jewellery.

Tabriz 'Capital of Islamic Tourism' had
been announced at the three-day 10th Session of the Islamic Conference of
Tourism Ministers (ICTM) of OIC held from February 5-7 at Sonargaon Hotel in
the Bangladesh capital.

was chosen as the "City of
Tourism" for 2019 by the tourism ministers of the OIC member states at the
closing session of the Conference of Tourism Ministers.
