Chinese visitors to Turkey record 47 percent boost


(MENAFN) Turkey was revealed by a cultural and tourism ministry official to have recorded a 47 percent increase in visitors from China, with around 250,000 visitors in 2017.

The country was also confirmed to have received over 57,000 Chinese tourists within the first two months of this year.

Turkish minister of Culture and Tourism Numan Kurtulmus declared the China-Turkey Tourism Year to have commenced on Tuesday, as it looks for tourism and cultural exchanges to bloom among both countries.

The Turkish minister further unveiled over 60 activities to be presented throughout the year, such as music shows and exhibitions of art and craft.

He also announced a forecast of 400,000 Chinese tourists to be entering Turkey in 2018.
