(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Six people, including women and children, were injured as roofs of mud-made houses collapsed in Mardan, Nowshera and Khyber Agency after heavy rain on Friday.
Rescue 1122 officials said the roof of a house collapsed in Gojar Garhi area of Mardan in the morning due to which 35-year-old Jan Bacha sustained injuries. The injured person was taken to District Headquarters Hospital Mardan.
Another such incident happened in Civil Bazaar in Nowshera Cantt where the roof of a poor cobbler's rented house collapsed, injuring three people, including a woman.
The cobbler, Amir Hamza told TNN that the house was in dilapidated condition and he was unable to repair it due to financial constraints. He injured were taken to Combined Military Hospital from where they were discharged as their condition was stable after receiving treatment.
In Khyber Agency, the roof of a house collapsed due to which a child and his mother were injured. They were taken to Jamrud Hospital for treatment.
Standing crops were also damaged in some parts of KP due to intermittent rain.
The current rain spell, which started on Monday in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata, is expected to continue for the next 24 hours. The Met Office says land sliding is also expected in mountainous areas.
Four people, including two children, died in rain-related incidents in Khyber Agency in Hangu during the last two days. The two children drowned in a flooded river in Khyber Agency, while two persons in Hangu died when lightning fell on them.
Heavy rain also caused flash flood situation in mountainous areas.
Standing crops and orchards were also damaged due to heavy rain and hailstorm in some parts of KP and Fata.
