Afghanistan- 'Dostum may return soon'
Dostum was reported to be not allowed to return home after he traveled to Ankara for what was said 'medical check'. Dostum left the country after allegations over his misbehavior with an Uzbek elder Ahmad Ishchi.
The National Movement, a political party led by Dostum has said that the government leaders and some foreign countries seem making efforts to pave the way for his return ahead of the parliamentary election slated for late October.
Bashir Tah Yench, spokesman for the National Movement party said Monday that Dostum would resume his job as the first vice president once he was back.
'The government of Afghanistan and some countries involved in Afghanistan's issues are now concerned of the absence of Dostum and are working to help him return home,' Tah Yench said.
The comments follow Turkish prime minister's visit to Kabul on Sunday, during which he talked about Dostum's fate with the Afghan officials.
Ishchi accused Dostum last year of beating and raping him. The government in reaction sentenced a few of his bodyguards to prison.
Gol Ahmad Madadzai, deputy head of the lawyers' union said that there was legal problem for Dostum's return, adding that Ishchi could continue his appeal through judicial organ.
