Ghana: security analyst warns of military deal with US

(MENAFN) Security Analyst David Agbe has raised concerns over a military base deal between Ghana and the US to hold a negative impact to Ghana's security if approved.

The analyst warned that the agreement might push Ghana to lose a sovereign right to hold power as an independent country.

It comes after the parliament of Ghana was presented with the defence agreement that gives the US the right to create a military base in Ghana.

The US military is to be awarded through the agreement with free access to "a host of Ghanaian facilities and wide-ranging tax exemptions."
