PM: Turkey ensures security in Syria's Afrin

Turkey ensured security in Syria's Afrin district, the Turkish media cited the country's Prime Minister Binali Yildirim as saying March 19.

'Operation Olive Branch is not directed against Syria,' he added. 'It ensured this country's security.'

"The military operation in Syria will continue until all terrorists are killed," Yildirim said.

Turkey's Armed Forces and Free Syrian Army liberated Afrin city from terrorists of Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the People's Protection Units (YPG) on March 18.

On Jan. 20, the Turkish Armed Forces, together with the Free Syrian Army, launched the Operation Olive Branch in Afrin, Syria.

F-16 fighters of the Turkish Air Force are involved in the operation, inflicting strikes on the positions of PYD/YPG on the Syrian-Turkish border.
