Thursday entertainment: Cubache Band
An ensemble of musicians homegrown in Cuba. The 6 piece band plays the very best authentic Cuban son, an addictive fusion of Latin and Afro rhythms that create the Buena Vista and salsa styles. The band features an influential mix of Spanish, French and Afro Cuban heritage musicians hailing from the regions of Santiago and Havana who are all passionate about maintaining the traditions of the genre by reviving Cuba's 'musical golden age'. Cubache performs the purest form of Cuban rhythms with a mix of Buena Vista Club renditions, Afro-Cuban son, salsa, merengue, rumba, chachachá, reggaeton and bolero.
Friday entertainment: Pamela Farhat
Pamela is a young Lebanese singer that was raised by a family of musicians. She has been performing the MENA region for the past 10 years and is now living in the UAE and she performs at various restaurants/ lounges here including 961LB on Mondays, as well as at Caramel and the lounge Dubai on Fridays. The music is a mix of oldies and new trendy music in Arabic, with influences form both Lebanese and Syrian music.
Le Gourmet Food Fest hopes to cement Galeries Lafayette'sposition as an innovator, not only by hosting the Festival in the block located in front of its recently launched space in Dubai's City Walk; but, more so by recreating a full-on festival atmosphere - be it the festival's street lights illuminating its outdoor space, a vibrant marketplace displaying an array of international food stalls offering a host of quick bites, between on-going live music performances and dedicated kids zone.
