Foreign Minister Klimkin: Date of 'Normandy format' meeting depends on formation of German government

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The date and venue of the next meeting of the foreign ministers of the ‘Normandy Four' countries will be determined after completion of the coalition process and formation of the government in Germany.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said this at a joint press conference with Foreign Minister of Denmark Anders Samuelsen in Kyiv on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We planned this meeting, but it did not take place as the German minister could not get back to Munich on time. We agreed to wait a few days for the approval of the coalition agreement in Germany. As soon as the coalition agreement is adopted, the membership of the German Government will be officially approved. Of course, we speak with the German Foreign Ministry about the possible dates and the possible agenda, although it was defined in Munich," Klimkin said.

The Ukrainian minister believes that the agenda for the "Norman Four" meeting is in force.

In this context, Klimkin recalled that he had met with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov in Munich and they discussed the release of hostages and political prisoners and the possible format of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbas.
