New South African President vows 'new dawn' to rise


(MENAFN) During his first State of the Nation speech, South Africa's new President Cyril Ramaphosa has pledged for a "new dawn" to come forth.

The new president has vowed to "turn the tide of corruption", as he shared his plans to open job opportunities, improve economy and make a faster land redistribution.

In his address, the South African president highlighted "this is the year in which we will turn the tide of corruption in our public institutions."

He continued "we are determined to build a society defined by decency and integrity, that does not tolerate the plunder of public resources, nor the theft by corporate criminals of the hard-earned savings of ordinary people."
