Pakistan- Petrol pump owners in Peshawar threaten strike despite overcharging consumers

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: The petrol pump owners in Peshawar have said the prices of petroleum fixed by the government are too low that is why they have increased the prices on their own.

The representatives of Sarhad Petroleum and Cortege Dealers Association said at a press conference in Peshawar on Wednesday that the petrol pumps get Rs1.57 profit per litre on the sale of petrol and diesel which is not enough to sustain their business. They said they have increased the prices by Re1 per litre to avoid losses.

They said the district administration is arresting the workers of petrol pumps on daily basis and also imposing heavy fines over increase in oil prices. They said if the administration did not stop this attitude, then they will shut the petroleum pumps in the whole city after one week.
