Jordan- Cold weather forecast Monday, milder temperatures next couple of days


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan.29 (Petra) -- Cold and cloudy weather is expected on Monday with a weak chance for scattered showers mainly in the northern and central parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.

Frost and ice formation are also forecast in the hilly areas and the Badia regions during this evening with northwesterly moderate winds.

Daytime temperatures expected today in Amman and the northern cities will reach12 degrees Celsius dropping down to 5 and 6 respectively, while it will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 20 degrees and lows standing at 11 degrees, the JMD said.

Temperatures will slightly rise over the next two days, bringing relatively cold conditions in the highlands and the desert region, while it will be pleasant in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba.

Frost and ice formation are also forecast in the evening, with southeasterly light winds, the JMD added.
