Oman- 2nd edition of Hidda Al Sahra camel trek to kickstart in the North Ash Sharqia


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Alam Al Hejn Magazine is organizing the 'Hidda Al Sahraa' camel trek's second edition on 15th December 2017, in the North Ash Sharqia in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism.

The trek will witness the participation of four of the sultanate's most famous Omani travelers, namely Ahmed bin Harib Al Mahrouqi, Amer Al Wahibi, Hamoud Al Nahdi and Mohammed Al Zadjali.

The camel trek event aims to explore the beauty of the Omani deserts especially in the winter tourism season, as a lot of international tourists head to Ash Sharqia sands to enjoy the scenery and weather. The program at the campsite will include cultural and heritage evenings that highlight the arts, customs and traditions that are well-known among Omanis in the region. A number of heritage, cultural and arts booklets, as well as an introductory session on the Sultanate will be provided to the participants as a prelude to the desert-crossing.

The route of the 2nd edition of the trek will take four-days; encompassing 50 kilometers, starting from Arish camp, passing through Sama Al-Wasil camp and concluding at Desert Nights Camp.

The trek will witness the participation of 16 representatives from Be'ah, and aims to also raise awareness of the importance of preserving the desert environment. Additionally, the event targets visitors, tourists and the local community; and aims to educate them on methods to preserve the desert's natural environment and ensure its sustainability. The organizing committee and media teams from the Ministry of Tourism, members from Sultan Qaboos University, as well as a team from Alam Al Hejn Magazine will also be attending the event.
