OIC foreign ministers meeting held

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held an extraordinary meeting in preparation for the OIC Extraordinary Summit on Wednesday.

The ministers discussed the situation after the recognition of Jerusalem as an alleged capital of Israel and moving its Embassy to the Occupied Jerusalem by the US administration. The session included speeches by Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Dr Yousef bin Ahmad al Othaimeen, OIC secretary general and Riyad al Maliki, Foreign Minister of Palestine.

In their speeches, the speakers emphasised their categorical rejection of the US administration's decision on the occupied Jerusalem. They considered it 'null and void' and called it 'dangerous', which aims to change the legal status of Jerusalem and does not hold any legitimacy. They also called it as a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and International law.
