UAE- NRL and CAP bring together regional professionals to discuss international laboratory standards

ABU DHABI, 11th December, 2017 (WAM) -- National Reference Laboratory (NRL), part of Mubadala's network of world-class healthcare providers, recently organised an Inspector Training Programme in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

Abdul Hamid Oubeisi, CEO of NRL, said, "We are delighted to have had the opportunity to co-organise this training with the CAP, during which we witnessed great enthusiasm and energy from the participants during this event. The programme, which saw the participation of leading experts from the CAP, our partner LabCorp, and NRL, provided a platform to share our knowledge and experience with the regional medical community, aligned with our mission to improve the standards of laboratory excellence and patient care."

Dr. Bharati Jhavieri, Chair of the Council on Accreditation of the CAP, said, "By co-organising a CAP inspectors training programme, NRL is supporting CAP in raising awareness of CAP checklists and standards and their impact on quality patient care. We were honoured to see the impressive attendance and the interest of the participants to learn about the standards. We are looking forward to organising additional training programmes in the Middle East region in partnership with NRL."

Dr. Rania Seliem, Laboratory Director of DHA's Rashid Hospital, and an attendee of the Inspector's Training Programme, said, "My team and I found this training to be a valuable experience, which provided participants with an insightful perspective of the CAP standards. Through interactive sessions and engaging with global and local experts, we were able to significantly improve our understanding of the standards requirements and the methods of implementing them through our work."
