(MENAFN) Four men were spotted swimming towards a crocodile trap near a scene of a Queensland attack. A local mayor ridiculed the men saying "idiots of the century award."
Julie Leu, the mayor of Douglas Shire was speechless of the men behavior. They were photographed while doing the act, their pictures while swimming around and climbing the trap went viral online.
She said on the radio of ABC "I was absolutely gobsmacked, this is incredibly stupid and dangerous behaviour. I'm wondering if these fellows are vying for the idiots of the year award or the idiots of the century award."
The photographs illustrated their reckless behavior of climbing on the top of the trap posing in its mouth and messing around with the water. It is said that the fine will each be fined $15,000 in case they were ever identified and convicted.
