To give customers a feel of Durga Puja celebrations, IRCTC has planned special food menus this year.

Food plazas at major railway stations in eastern India would be specially decorated; customers would enjoy complimentary desserts or drinks with their meals.

Delicacies like shahi murgh, sultana pulao, gulab jamun, etc. have been included in the Puja menu of Rajdhani and Duronto trains.

Passengers of five trains to savor special delicacies

IRCTC General Manager (East) Debashis Chandra said special delicacies would be served by five trains this year; only Rajdhani passengers could enjoy special menu last year.

The five trains are Howrah and Sealdah Rajdhanis, Howrah and Sealdah Durontos to New Delhi, Howrah-Yesvantpur Duronto Express, Sealdah-Puri Duronto Express, and Howrah-Digha AC Express.

Food plazas and e-catering vendors were directed to prepare traditional food items.


Rajdhani, Duronto special menus for Saptami, Ashtami, Navmi, Dashami
Auspicious Puja Days


On Saptami, passengers would savor shahi murgh/paneer korma, moong dal with green peas and ghee, sultana pulao/rotis, and ice-cream.

Chicken/paneer rezala, dal makhani, sabz pulao/roti, and ice-cream would be served on Ashtami.

Passengers would be treated with murgh do pyaaza/matar paneer, mix dal, peas pulao/roti, and ice-cream on Navami.

Dashami menu includes makhanwali murgh/paneer, chana dal with coconut, ghee bhaat/paratha, gulab jamun, and ice-cream.
