Story Updated: Ministry changes diesel price
Initially when ministry updated their website, there were no changes in prices of petrol and diesel, This was later amneded with a new list, which showed a marginal rise in diesel price. The story is updated with the latest list from Ministry
Doha: In a big relief for all motorists in Qatar there won't be any change in petrol prices in April.
According to the new price list issued by the Ministry of Energy and Industry, the prices of super and premium grade petrol in April will remain the same as that of March.
Super grade petrol will cost QR1.70, while premium grade petrol will be QR1.60.
In March the price had gone up by 5 dirhams in comparison to February prices.
In February it was QR1.55 and QR1.65 respectively.
Diesel will cost QR1.60 in April, which is 5 dirhams more than March price of QR1.55, as per the list published by the ministry.
Earlier, ministry had published an image on their website showing no change in diesel price for April. After a short while, Ministry updated their website with a new image showing a 5-dirham rise from the March price.
The ministry posted the prices on its website in line with the decision to review fuel prices every month, based on international prices.
The ministry announced in April 2016, that it will start pegging the fuel prices to the international market.
When the first list was announced in June the premium petrol was QR1.20 per litre and super was QR1.30 per litre. In June diesel was QR1.40 per litre.
From June to April, the price of super and premium grade petrol has increased by 40 dirhams and diesel by 20 dirhams.
