Lift Ban on Import of Live Animals from South Africa

Riyadh, Rabi'I 8, 1438, Dec 7, 2016, SPA -- The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has decided to lift ban on import of live sheep (sheep, goats) and cattle for slaughtering (only), from the Republic of South Africa, with the exception of the regions of (Limpopo and Mpumalanga) providing that each consignment to be accompanied with two certificates issued by relevant governmental bodies.
It added that the decision to lift the ban on import of live animals from South Africa was based on the report submitted by the Saudi technical team which has recently visited the Republic of South Africa, as well as the report received from the World Organization for Animal Health showing the lack of Rift Valley Fever (RVF) Disease.
