Ambassador Qattan also said that the Kingdom considered the brotherly Yemeni refugees on its territory as its visitors, and provided more than half a million Yemeni a lot of facilities, including freedom of movement, work and bringing in their families, and the number of Yemeni students attending free public education in the Kingdom amounted to 285,000 students.
He explained that the value of the assistance provided recently by the Kingdom to Yemeni refugees in Djibouti and Somalia amounted to more than $ 42 million, and in response to the humanitarian relief needs of the Yemeni people, the Kingdom provided about $ 500 million.
He pointed out that the Kingdom submitted in February 2016 a support of $ 59 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees "UNRWA", so the total amounts provided by the Kingdom to UNRWA since its inception reached more than $ 500 million.
Ambassador Qattan drew attention that the Kingdom's commitment to provide assistance to Afghan refugees in Pakistan amounted to about $ 30 million, in addition to its pledge to provide $ 50 million to the Indonesian Government to support the refugees of "Rohingya" in Indonesia.
He stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will spare no effort in continuing to work with international organizations and States that believe in the collective action to achieve international peace and security, and all the good of mankind and that it is going on to perform its humanitarian, political and economic role with a sense of responsibility and moderation, and to ensure the application of justice and concepts which constitute the fixed axes for the international action.
