(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Riyadh, October 20 (QNA) - GCC Secretary General Dr Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani conferred here today with Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.
During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in Yemen, including the cease-fire that has been reached and became effective as of this morning.
They also discussed efforts by the UN envoy to complete the Yemeni peace consultations, and push the political process in accordance with the Gulf initiative as well as in accordance with the outputs of the comprehensive national dialogue conference and the UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
The meeting emphasized the need to adhere to the terms of this truce as it opens the way to continue the Yemeni peace talks and assist in the delivery of humanitarian aid to all Yemeni provinces. (QNA)
