Bahrain's ICC calls for strengthening character of youth against terrorism

DUBAI, 19th October, 2016 (WAM) -- Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman and Executive Director of Isa Cultural Centre, ICC, in Bahrain, has said that terrorist organisations are using very sophisticated media techniques that have significant brainwashing effects on the youth, adding that competent authorities have yet to find effective means to address them for the protection of future generations.

His remarks came in the ICC Deputy Chairman's work paper, "Modern media and its impact on youth", presented during his participation in the Culture of Positive Thinking; Reality and Challenges Conference organised by the Women's Association in Dubai.

The event is held under the patronage of Mother of the Nation, H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.

Bahrain News Agency, BNA, ICC Deputy Chairman emphasised the significance of educating the youth and strengthening their character them against the complex virtual world, as well as disseminating the spirit of optimism and hope.

He noted the need to promote the vital role of the family in educating and raising awareness among the youth, calling for developing strategies and activities to engage the youth in the interest of the community and to help build a strong personality.
