Jordan- Foreign Minister Partakes in New York Arab, International Meetings

NEW YORK — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Nasser Judeh, Yesterday, took part in in a high-level meeting on mass refugee and migrant waves in New York, which was held on the side-lines of the UN General Assembly 71st session.

The meeting placed more emphasis on challenges facing refugees and migrants at all levels.

Judeh said it is a collective responsibility of the international community to grapple with refugees' exodus, noting that host countries were adversely affected by this crisis.

"Jordan is the third largest country in the whole globe in terms of hosting refugees", Judeh said before the meeting in New York, noting the importance of keeping pledges made by the international community at the donor conference on Syria held in London in February.

On the Palestinian cause, Judeh reiterated that it is the core issues in the Middle East region, stressing the need to achieve peace that embraces the two-state solution leading to setting up an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Judeh also attended the annual meeting of the Arab League's ministerial council, which was held on the side-lines of the UN General Assembly 71st session, headed by Tunisia.
