Kuwait- Belgian photojournalist captures the endurance of Gazans in her book

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BRUSSELS, Sept 23 (KUNA) -- A young Belgian photojournalist has captured in a book for future generations the testimony of the suffering but also the heroic patience and resistance of the two million people in Gaza against the Israeli oppression and brutalities.

For two years in a row from 2104-2016, Virginie Nguyen Hoang has travelled to Gaza, and Thursday night she launched her pictorial book 'Gaza, The Aftermath' at the Palestinian embassy in Brussels.

The 29-year-old Hoang whose father is Vietnamese and mother Belgian was born in Belgium where she studied journalism and later received training in photojournalism in Denmark.

Her interest in Palestine started when she went there on a school-trip in 2008.

Presenting her book, she said despite all the difficulties hope is real and alive in the eyes of the Gazans.

Hoang witnessed the Israeli military onslaught of 2014 and shared the life of a population that feels abandoned and forgotten by the world.

"It took me time, a lot of time to bear witness to the living conditions of those families. The people of Gaza are naturally very welcoming, but they also want to show to the world what they endure," she wrote in her book.

Palestinian ambassador to Brussels, Abdulrahim Al-Farra, in his introductory remarks expressed his happiness that the first event in the new premises of the Palestine mission in Brussels was devoted to Gaza.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas opened the new Palestinian embassy building during a visit to the Belgian capital last June. (end) nk.tg
