New Home Sales Jumps in June to Highest Level in more than 8 Years


(MENAFN) As reported by the U.S. housing market, sales of new homes grew remarkably in June to the highest level since February 2008.

The Commerce Department said on Tuesday, that the sales of new family houses have an annual rate of 592.000, 3.5% above last May level and 25.4% above last year at the same time.

Though, in June, the normal sales prices of new houses were USD 306,700. The seasonally adjusted estimate of new houses for sale was 224.000 units at the end of June.

As the existing home sales considered as the major part of the US housing market, it has reached a seasonally adjusted annual rate of USD 5.57 million in June, keeping their highest rates since February 2007, as reported by the National Association of Realtors (NAR).
