Qatar- Karaevli guides Rabane De Sury to glory at Katara

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) A competitor in action during the CSI4* 145cm event during the opening day of the final leg of QNB Doha Tour which got under way yesterday at Katara.
Doha: Turkey’s Omer Karaevli guided Rabane De Sury to glory on the opening day as the final leg of the QNB Doha Tour which got under way yesterday at a special sea-side site inside Katara.
With top ranking regional and international riders taking part in the prestigious event it was Rabane De Sury who stole limelight in the CS14* 145cm the showpiece competition of the first day of the three-day event.
Karaevli got richer by QR32500 with the win in 27.89 with Qatar’s Mubarak Yousuf Al Rumaihi astride Vivaldi K finishing in second place to confirm a prize purse of QR26000.
Egypt’s Mohammed Osama El Borai riding Dina earned third spot and collected QR19500.
Saudi Arabia’s Abdulrahman Al Rajhi rode Bling Bling 2 to triumph in CS12* 135cm and got richer by QR10000 by finishing the job in 24.01. Kuwait’s Ali Al Khorafi came in second place with Cheril completing the job in 24.35 confirming QR8000 for the position. Bader Mohammed Al Fard of Saudi Arabi riding Cover Girl G finished third with a time of 25.59.
The CS12* 125cm competition was dominated by Saudi Arabia’s riders who secured all the top three positions.
Saad Alajami bagged top prize of QR 7500 by riding Wait N See to victory in 54.73. He overcame Turky Bin Oudah astride Armani De Beclo who finished the competition in 62.07 for second place while Beverly Girl achieved third position for Abdulrahman Alnemr with a time of 62.90.
This is the first time that an FEI approved event is taking place at Katara. The first two legs of the QNB Doha Tour were hosted at QEF’s Main Arena and Al Shaqab Arena.
Events will continue today with the main competitions scheduled for tomorrow which will bring curtains down to the coveted QNB Doha Tour.
