Qatari Omani joint committee discusses mutual cooperation

DOHA: The Qatari-Omani joint committee yesterday discussed in its 17th session held here proposals and visions to enhance mutual cooperation and followed up on a set of joint projects.
The agenda of the meeting included following up on joint projects in the fields of education higher education transport communication energy commerce industry tourism and agriculture.
Minister of Finance H E Ali Sherif Al Emadi chaired Qatari side and Oman’s Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs Darwish bin Ismail bin Ali Al Balushi led his country’s side.
Al Emadi stressed the strength of fraternal ties between Qatar and Oman under the leadership of Emir
H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sultan of Oman H M Qaboos bin Said.
The minister demanded that the committee works to develop ties between Qatar and Oman on all fronts in the coming phase by increasing investments and joint ventures and removing obstacles facing them.
Omani minister said the convening of the session reaffirms the depth and width of ties linking Qatar and Oman thanks to the wise guidance and personal care of the Emir and the Sultan of Oman so as to serve the mutual interests of the Qatari and Omani peoples and meet their aspirations and ambitions.
The Omani minister expressed his delight at the progress made in bilateral cooperation reiterating the need to achieve more cooperation and integration particularly in investment projects in order to benefit from the substantial capacities and available opportunities on both sides.
The Peninsula
