SAIC Motor produces 4.5m vehicles in 2015

(MENAFN) SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, the Chinese state-owned automotive design and manufacturing company, has produced a staggering 4.5 million cars over 2015 exceeding all other Chinese top carmakers.

The Fortune Global 100 Company and one of the Big Four Chinese automakers, sells its products under a variety of brand names, including those of its joint venture partners, such as the MG, a historic British car marque.

SAIC has effectively built an entire modern automotive component supply chain in Shanghai from scratch, and the number and quality of locally produced auto parts rose significantly, thus its top position was guaranteed in the industry.

Meanwhile, the firm operates a large research and development center in the United Kingdom, the SAIC Motor UK Technical Centre, which as of last year employs approximately 275 engineers and 25 designers.
