Ten firms bid for EPC contract in Oman's Duqum area


(MENAFN) Ten major contracting firms have been pre-qualified for submitting bids for a EPC contract for building facilities for supplying seawater for cooling industrial plants in Oman's Duqm area.

The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project is being developed by Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority (Sezad), which is located in the South part of the Sultanate of Oman.

The pre-qualified companies for submitting bids include Hani Archirondon, Larsen and Toubro-Samsung-L&T Oman consortium, China Harbour Engineering Company and Hyundai-Galfar consortium.

The construction of the seawater intake system will start in the fourth quarter of 2015, with the handing over scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2017, according to a tender floated by Sezad.
