Conference reviews Oman's experiences with cybercrimes

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The third International e-commerce Conference on 'Combating Cybercrimes' opened at Crowne Plaza Salalah on Tuesday. The conference opened under the auspices of H E Issa bin Hamad al Azri Undersecretary in the Ministry of Justice.
The meet is being held to review sultanate's experiences in dealing with cybercrimes. Officials from the Sultan Qaboos University the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia Information technology Authority and the Oman National Computer Emergency Readiness Team are taking part in the conference.
The conference will also see presentation of several working papers and case studies by experts. Organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in Dhofar the two-day conference is being held in collaboration with the Middle East Centre for Social Studies and Consultancies. On Tuesday a panel discussion on tackling cybercrimes and different legal aspects was held.
