Emirates Global Aluminium to promote UAE interests at leading global industrial event

(MENAFNEditorial) The UAE's industrial flagship– Emirates Global Aluminium ("EGA") – will participate at this year's Hannover Messe, which takes place in Germany from 7 to 11 April. The annual event is the world's leading industrial and technological trade fair, attracting over 200,000 visitors from 71 countries. This will be the first time that EGA - the jointly-owned, UAE-based aluminium conglomerate being formed by Mubadala Development Corporation and Investment Corporation of Dubai - will take part

Saeed Fadhel Al Mazrooei (designate CEO: UAE Operations at EGA) commented: "Hannover Messe offers a perfect forum to promote the excellence-based partnerships that the UAE has developed with the business community around the world. It is also the ideal platform to demonstrate the industrial investment opportunities that the UAE has to offer. As one of the world's leading producers of primary aluminium, EGA is proud to be part of the drive to showcase the nation's 'open for business' approach, which helps build our global reputation and will continue to bring many benefits to the country in the future.

In addition to a large EGA stand in the UAE Pavilion at the fair, EGA will promote the country during the 3rd UAE Investment and Business Forum held alongside the trade fair. Al Mazrooei will be a speaker on a panel discussing the growth of the UAE as a regional industrial hub. As well as promoting the country's products, the forum also allows national exporters to keep abreast with global developments in the field of exports. Al Mazrooei added: "With over 80 per cent of our production exported around the world, EGA is well-placed to inform this important debate.

EGA's participation at Hannover Messe 2014 is part of the largest-ever UAE delegation at the event. Led by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development ("ADDED"), more than 30 companies and government entities will be represented. Germany is a major trading partner for the UAE: in 2012 trade between the two countries stood at US$ 9 billion and more than 1,000 German companies already operate in the UAE. Germany, and in particular its automotive sector, is also important for the UAE's aluminium industry. EGA's core operating subsidiaries – Dubai Aluminium PJSC ("DUBAL") and Emirates Aluminium PJSC ("EMAL") – are among the world's leading producers of foundry alloys for automotive applications and billets for automotive forging
