Qatar, Saudi Arabia Hold Talks on Mideast Tensions, De-escalation Efforts


(MENAFN) Qatar and Saudi Arabia have held talks focused on reducing tensions in the Middle East, including developments linked to the US-Iran conflict, according to reports.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, the Qatari Foreign Ministry said Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed by phone efforts aimed at easing regional tensions and enhancing stability and security.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized “the importance of all parties responding positively to the ongoing mediation efforts, which would pave the way for addressing the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue, leading to a sustainable agreement that prevents renewed escalation,” according to the ministry.

The two officials also reviewed bilateral relations and explored ways to further strengthen cooperation between their countries.
