Two Killed as U.S. Military Strikes Drug-Running Vessel in Caribbean

(MENAFN) The U.S. Southern Command announced Monday that its Joint Task Force Southern Spear carried out a "lethal kinetic strike" targeting a vessel operated by "Designated Terrorist Organizations" in Caribbean waters.

According to the command, intelligence had confirmed the boat was moving along well-established narco-trafficking corridors and was actively engaged in drug smuggling operations at the time of the strike. The announcement was made via the command's official account on X.

Two male "narco-terrorists" were killed in the operation, the command confirmed.

The U.S. Southern Command released accompanying night-vision footage showing the moment the vessel was struck, offering rare visual documentation of the maritime interdiction action.

The strike signals Washington's escalating use of direct military force as a tool in its battle against Caribbean drug trafficking networks with ties to designated terrorist organizations.
