Mani Kaul directed 'Ahamaq' as a TV mini-series for Doordarshan. It starred Shah Rukh Khan, Mita Vashisht, and Ayub Khan-Din. The project was even shown at the New York Film Festival (NYFF) but never got a theatrical release. This is why many people think it's an 'unreleased film'. It gained fresh attention after a screening at the MAMI film festival in 2016.

Director Rajkumar Santoshi planned 'Rashk' as an ambitious project starring Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. However, the film got shelved. The reasons included confusion over the lead role, date clashes, creative differences, and financial issues. The idea was later reworked into 'London Dreams', which starred Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn.

Subhash Ghai planned to cast Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit in his film 'Shikhar'. The project was launched on a grand scale but was stopped midway due to changes in the story and creative decisions. Ghai himself later revealed that he dropped 'Shikhar' to start working on 'Pardes', and 'Shikhar' never went back on floors.

Reports suggest this film was supposed to star Shah Rukh Khan with Ayesha Jhulka and Madhu. A few songs for the movie were even recorded. Despite this, the project never moved forward. It is believed that the film was left incomplete due to financial, scheduling, or other production-related problems and never made it to release.

There was buzz about a film by director Priyadarshan, produced by Ratan Jain and Ganesh Jain of Venus. The plan was to bring Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai together. However, the project never officially took off. According to media reports, changes in casting, dates, and production plans were the main hurdles. While it was talked about in the 2000s, the film was never made.

There was also talk of a Hollywood project for Shah Rukh Khan called 'Xtreme City'. It was unofficially said to be a remake of 'Forrest Gump'. Rumours claimed the plan was to cast SRK alongside stars like Leonardo DiCaprio and Angelina Jolie.
