Lufthansa Extends Suspension of Tel Aviv Flights Through June

(MENAFN) Lufthansa Group has extended the suspension of its flights to and from Tel Aviv until at least June, according to reports citing Israeli media.

The aviation group, which includes Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings, said it could consider resuming limited services to Ben Gurion Airport as early as June 1, depending on security conditions in the region.

The decision comes as many international carriers continue to avoid the route following disruptions linked to the conflict that escalated after the US-Israeli strikes on Iran on Feb. 28, according to reports.

Since then, numerous airlines have repeatedly extended suspensions, reflecting ongoing uncertainty over regional air safety.

Other carriers have taken mixed approaches. Air France previously postponed its Paris–Tel Aviv service resumption until May 10. Meanwhile, Etihad Airways has resumed operations between Abu Dhabi and Ben Gurion Airport with two daily flights.

Additional airlines are gradually adjusting schedules: Smartwings plans to restart seven weekly flights from May 16, while Wizz Air has extended its suspension until at least May 4, citing continued instability, according to reports.
