Ukraine To Have Access To EU Funds Despite Delay In Final Approval Of Loan, Says Barrot
“I want this €90 billion loan to be finally approved, and I am convinced that it will happen. The question is not whether it will happen, but when,” Barrot said.
In his view, this process might accelerate if Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán suffers a defeat in Sunday evening's elections.
“Perhaps. But regardless of the outcome, I know that the European Commission will do everything necessary to ensure that, if the procedure is not completed by the end of April, Ukraine has access to the necessary funds,” he explained.
Barrot also added that Europe will continue to support the Ukrainian resistance,“because our security is also being decided on the front lines today.”
“This is a front line held by Ukrainians, because for the first time since the war began, Putin's mercenary army has been stopped. And since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has been recapturing more territory than Russia is seizing on Ukrainian soil,” the French minister elaborated.
